Who is SmartLife?
SmartLife is a non profit, non government organisation, who has initiated the concept of SmartAdopt. SmartLife members monitor the SmartAdopt functions. -
Why does an Office goer need to adopt the blue collar labourer?
The lesser privileged brethren needs a little assistance in gaining confidence and enhancing his skills. In order to grow these two areas, they need the companionship of the mentors. -
What is the role of SmartLife in SmartAdopt?
SmartLife conducts classes for personality development. Like office etiquette, English speaking courses, the mentors in SmartAdopt have to make sure their ward attend these classes. -
How do we choose the labourer we want to adopt?
SmartAdopt has a database with the blue collar workers. The office goers who have the passion to help the workers can register themselves and then check the database, they can choose their ward based on the language they speak or the hometown etc. The only condition is that the mentor and ward should be of the same sex. -
What are the criteria for a labourer to be adopted?
The blue collar worker who has a salary of less than AED 1500 per month is eligible. There is no restriction on his education or family background. -
Is there any financial transaction that will take place?
No, under no circumstances will there be any monetary transaction between the mentor and his ward or SmartAdopt. -
Can the worker help the mentor in his activities?
The blue collar brethren are not allowed to 'lend a hand' in any of the mentor's needs. -
What are the areas that the mentor should consider before adopting a worker?
The office goer needs a passion to help the lesser privileged. He should e able to spare 30 minutes in a week, to call and speak to the labourers. The office goer should be patient and have the listening ability.
